Xing Yi Quan - 10am - 12:30pm

In this Morning workshop, We will explore further with practitioners the 5 element fists and some of the charateristics of this amazing martial art. The five element fists consists of Chopping, Crushing, Drilling, Pounding & Crossing Fists. These five element forms are also closely related to the 5 elements - Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth, in turn affecting the major organs in our body. Practising these five forms will not only help the practitioner develop dynamic physical & internal power, but also boost the energy level in the body and improve health.

Introduction to Xing Yi Quan

Xing
Yi Quan is one of the three major internal Martials Arts, namely Xing Yi, Ba Gua & Tai Chi. the history of Xing Yi Quan dates back to the Ming dynasty, more than 300 hundred years ago.

Xing Yi Quan is commonly referred to as Form and Mind boxing. The name illustrates the strong emphasis placed on the motion of the body being subordinate to conscious control. The form the body takes is an external manifestation of the internal state of mind, and is the underlying premise behind Xing Yi Quan as a method of combat.

As well as an effective combat martial art, Xing Yi is also an excellent health exercise. It is suitable for people of all levels of physique and of all ages. Movements are simple and easy to learn, and practitioners can practise the art at their own level of capability. It is excellent for building physical as well as mental strength.

A great opportunity to get an insight to this unique exercise.

 

Tai Chi Push Hands - 1:30pm - 4pm

Tai Chi Push hand is two people practice it is a fantastic way to feel the relaxation and yeilding element of Tai Chi, through this practice one can under the energy of oneself and also the partner and learn how to blend in rathre than counter rigidly. it is also a great practice tool to imporve one's martial skills.

In this session, we will learn the basic two partner drills and some of the techniques in push hands. 

Both Workshops are suitable for enthusiasts of all ages and levels and you don't need experience to take part.

Registration for this event is on the same form as for our Autumn Boot Camp on the previous day, so that participants coming on both days only have to complete one booking form. You do not have to register for the Boot Camp if you do not wish to.
