The Deyin Competition Team attended the 2006 National Championship held in Milton Keynes, team members Nicola Drew-smith, Candice Assing, Kevin Sweeney and Jasit Singh competed in the Tai Chi Hand and Weapon Forms catagories.
The Championship was hosted by the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts, therefore it was the only medals can be claimed to be National levels.
After her amazing performances, our team veteran Nicola has done it again, on top of the numerous Gold and Silver medals won in previous competitions, She got two more Gold medals added to her collection. We can proudly say now we have true national Champion in our association.
I am confident that with her talent, hard work and dedication, she will continue to keep the Deyin flag raised high above others and more medals are coming the Deyin Way. |

Our new rising star Candice, who for the very first time competed in a championships, although started off slightly nervous but managed to re-gain her calm and went on to beat other competitors to get a silver medal on the Weapon form catagory.
With only a few years in the Tai Chi Life, she is classed as the baby of the club as well as in competition. However, she has shown great confidence and dedictaion in the competition and amazingly beat off other more experiences competitior to gain silver.
She is definitely another medal graping potential for our association.

Other Team members Kevin and Jaz had also done really well, they have performed the forms nicely and have done our association proud. Kevin managed to come fourth in the Weapon form catagory.
I can see in the not too distant future they will be on their way to places in competitions and their skill will grow to a higher level. Although winning a medal would be nice but a great experience to test their nerves and their standard is invaluable. well done to the both of them.
As the Chief Instructor of the association and teacher of the four of them, I am proud that my students have achieved so much and through that it re-confirm the highest standard of our teaching. Well Done to the four of them!!
I am confident that more students of our association will rise and achieve the same standard or higher. So work hard everyone and I look forward to seeing more of you competing and waving the Deyin Flag to the highest level.
