Deyin Taijiquan was founded in 1994 by Masters Faye (Li) and Tary Yip with the encouragement and support of Faye's father, Professor Li deyin, in an effort to promote Tai Chi, Qi Gong and internal martial arts to people of wolverhampton, West Midlands. In the last decade or two, the popularity of Tai Chi in the UK has grown in an amazing pace and so has the Deyin Taijiquan Institute. Spurred on by the hard work and dedication of Masters Faye and Tary, Deyin has become the biggest Tai Chi group in wolverhampton and surrounding area with over 300 Students and instructors training under Faye and Tary. Deyin Taijiquan Institute has expanded further afield with members and instructors throughout the UK and recently the Deyin Taijiquan Institute Spain has been formally inaugurated as part of the Deyin Family.
We specialise on Yang Style Taiji, Sun Style Taiji, Wudang Sword, Xing Yi Quan, Taiji Kungfu Fan, Taiji competition routines.Master Faye and Tary are the highest authority on 24 Step Yang Style taijiquan, Taiji Kungfu Fan, Wudang Sword and 42 Step Taijiquan in the UK and Europe.
As well as building good Tai Chi network in the local area, Deyin has also established good friendships with many clubs and associations throughout the UK. Faye & Tary's passion on Tai Chi and internal martial arts and their desire to share their passions did not stop nationally, it went further afield. Deyin has also established close friendships with schools and associations in countries such as China, Japan, Macau, Hong Kong, USA, Spain, Sweden, Germany and Porutgal, thus making it one of the leading organisations in the UK with true global connections.
Although Deyin has only little over a decade of history, the family goes back a hundred years in their martial arts journey. Faye' great grand father, Grand Master Li Yu Lin started his martial art life at an early age. His teachers included famous Xing Yi Master Hao En Guan, Li Cun Yi, Xing Yi , Bagua & Taiji master, Grand master Sun Lu Tang and famous Wudang Sword Master Li jing Lin.
Faye's Grand uncle Li Tian Ji was one of China's foremost Tai Chi masters, who started learning Shaolin Quan from his father. He was then accepted into one of the most prestiges martial art academy, the Shadong martial arts academy and studied Taiji, Xing Yi, Bagua San Da and Wudang Sword. During then he also received invaluable guidance from Grand master Li Jing Lin and Sun Lu Tang. He went on to become the first wushu coach in the people's republic of China. Li Tian Ji was designated as one of the top ten martial arts masters in China and commented as the father of comtemporary wushu and Taiji.
 Professor Li Deyin (1938 - ), Faye's father started his martial arts journey at about four years old. He started learning Shaolin, Xing Yi, Bagua and Taiji from his grandfather Li Yu Lin until he went to university in Beijing. He then carried on his training with his uncle Li Tian Ji. Professor Li had also received guidance from one of the students of the famous Chen Style master Chen Fa Ke.
Professor Li was designated as one of the one hundred martial arts treasures of China and he was the creator of the 48 Step Combine Taijiquan, 42 step Taijiquan competition routine, 38 Step Sun Style Short form and Taiji Kung Fu Fan. Many of professor Li's Students (Chen Si Tan, Gao Jia Min, Su Ren Feng, Su Zhi Fang etc.) went on to become national and world Champions.

Master Faye (Li) Yip
Inspired by the family's martial arts tradition, master Faye took an interest in martial arts at a very young age. She started with Shaolin Quan at the age of seven, she then went on to study Xing Yi, Bagua and Taiji under her father's strict coaching regime. She also travelled with her father to many different parts of China to learn from some of China's highly respected masters, train with professionl coaches and compete with some of China's elite athletes who went on to become national and international champions.
As well as receiving invaluable tuition from her father, Faye also received guidance form her grand uncle Li Tian Ji, famous Xing Yi and Bagua master Sha Guo Zheng and the lady she called Great Nan, the late Grand master Sun Jian Yun. Before leaving China for the UK, Faye had frequently entered national competitions and competed amongst some of China's elite Tai Chi Athletes and former world champions, She had won numerous Gold and Silver medals on Taiji and sword routines in major tournaments in China.In the last 15 years, Master Faye had trained over 1000 Students of variuos level and created many national Tai Chi Champions in the UK. She has also travel extensively to conduct Tai chi Seminars to students in the UK and throughout Europe (Spain, France, Sweden, China etc).
As well as one of the leading teachers in Traditional Yang Style Taijiquan, standardised forms and Wudang Sword, She is also one of the highest authorities in Europe in Traditional Sun Style Tai Chi with direct lineage to the founder Grand Master Sun Lu Tang. Master Faye Yip was also the first person to learn and promote the famous Taiji Kung Fu Fan created by her father Professor Li Deyin.
Currently, Faye is working closely with the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain in promoting Tai Chi in the UK and making connection with Tai Chi enthusiasts in China. She is one of the four members of the technical panel and member of exective committee of the Union as well as the Chinese Liason officer for the Union.
Master Tary Yip
Tary came from a family also with a deep martial arts root, his great grand father is one of the famous Chow Gar Praying Mantis teachers in Hong Kong. Tary started his martial arts training at as a teenager under Grand Master Simon Fan, one of the famous Praying Mantis teachers in the UK.Tary has practised and taught Southern Style Praying Mantis kung fu for over 20 years. He is a well know Southern style Kung Fu teacher.
Since started under Professor Li's strict supervision, he has dedicated most of his practice and teaching on Traditional Yang and Sun style Taiji, Xing Yi, Taiji Kung Fu Fan and Wudang Sword. Tary was invited to judge in many martial arts competitions in the UK and has established close friendships with many martial arts teachers in the UK and abroad. Master Tary Yip has travelled regularly to conduct semianrs to students in the UK and Spain, and has trained numberous UK national Tai Chi Champions.
