Deyin Taijiquan was founded in 1994 by Masters Faye (Li) and Tary Yip with the encouragement and support of Faye's father, Professor Li deyin, in an effort to promote Tai Chi, Qi Gong and internal martial arts to people of Wolverhampton, West Midlands. In the last decade or two, the popularity of Tai Chi in the UK has grown in an amazing pace and so has the Deyin Taijiquan Institute. Spurred on by the hard work and dedication of Masters Faye and Tary, Deyin has become the biggest Tai Chi group in wolverhampton and surrounding area with over 300 Students and instructors training under Faye and Tary. Deyin Taijiquan Institute has expanded further afield with members and instructors throughout the UK and recently the Deyin Taijiquan Institute Spain has been formally inaugurated as part of the Deyin Family.
We specialise on Yang Style Taiji, Sun Style Taiji, Wudang Sword, Xing Yi Quan, Taiji Kungfu Fan, Taiji competition routines.Master Faye and Tary are the highest authority on 24 Step Yang Style taijiquan, Taiji Kungfu Fan, Wudang Sword and 42 Step Taijiquan in the UK and Europe.
As well as building good Tai Chi network in the local area, Deyin has also established good friendships with many clubs and associations throughout the UK. Faye & Tary's passion on Tai Chi and internal martial arts and their desire to share their passions did not stop nationally, it went further afield. Deyin has also established close friendships with schools and associations in countries such as China, Japan, Macau, Hong Kong, USA, Spain, Sweden, Germany and Porutgal, thus making it one of the leading organisations in the UK with true global connections.
Although Deyin has only little over a decade of history, the family goes back a hundred years in their martial arts
journey. Faye' great grand father, Grand Master Li Yu Lin started his martial art life at an early age. His teachers included famous Xing Yi Master Hao En Guan, Li Cun Yi, Xing Yi , Bagua & Taiji master, Grand master Sun Lu Tang and famous Wudang Sword Master Li jing Lin.
Faye's Grand uncle Li Tian Ji was one of China's foremost Tai Chi masters, who started learning Shaolin Quan from his father. He was then accepted into one of the most prestiges martial art academy, the Shadong martial arts academy and studied Taiji, Xing Yi, Bagua San Da and Wudang Sword. During then he also received invaluable guidance from Grand master Li Jing Lin and Sun Lu Tang. He went on to become the first wushu coach in the people's republic of China. Li Tian Ji was designated as one of the top ten martial arts masters in China and commented as the father of comtemporary wushu and Taiji.
Professor Li Deyin (1938 - ), Faye's father started his martial arts journey at about four years old. He started learning Shaolin, Xing Yi, Bagua and Taiji from his grandfather Li Yu Lin until he went to university in Beijing. He then carried on his training with his uncle Li Tian Ji. Professor Li had also received guidance from one of the students of the famous Chen Style master Chen Fa Ke.Professor Li was designated as one of the one hundred martial arts treasures of China and he was the creator of the 48 Step Combine Taijiquan, 42 step Taijiquan competition routine, 38 Step Sun Style Short form and Taiji Kung Fu Fan. Many of professor Li's Students (Chen Si Tan, Gao Jia Min, Su Ren Feng, Su Zhi Fang etc.) went on to become national and world Champions,
Through the relentless effort of masters Faye & Tary, Deyin has now become one of the leading Tai Chi & Qigong schools in the UK and Europe. We are working closely with schools in Spain, Italy, France, Netherlands, Holland, Australia etc to promote Tai Chi & Qigong and improve their standard of practice.
